Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History (After “Toppled statue of Albert Pike”, Joe Flood, 2020), 2026 Graphite & charcoal on paper 16 x 21 in Under Executive Order 14253 “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History”, the statue of Confederate General Albert Pike in Washington D.C. was reinstalled on October 26th, 2025. Originally built in 1901 the statue was toppled on Juneteenth 2020 following the George Floyd protests. This drawing is a hand-drawn copy of the “Toppled statue of Albert Pike” photograph by Joe Flood.

Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History (After "The Scourged Back", McPherson & Oliver, 1863), 2025 Graphite on paper 12 x 17 in Under Executive Order 14253 “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History”, an image of “The Scourged Back”, an infamous image from 1863 of an escaped enslaved man named Peter was flagged for removal from educational displays about the history of slavery at Fort Pulaski National Monument in Savannah, GA in 2025. This drawing is a hand-drawn copy of the “The Scourged Back” photograph.
